Explore painting and image-making through a range of materials, processes, and unexpected approaches. Retreats may combine painting, dyeing, paper-making, photography, experimental mark-making, and found or natural materials—bringing practices together to encourage experimentation, discovery, and a more defined personal visual language.

Explore the book as both a vessel for ideas and an art form in itself. Retreats may include creating artist books, sculpting and transforming existing books, incorporating writing into visual art, and exploring poetry through image, sound, and film with cine-poetry.

We are currently raising funds to create a new ceramics studio at the Château, expanding the ways our guests and artists can explore, experiment, and create during their time with us. We anticipate having this exciting new space ready for our 2027 retreats, opening the door to future workshops and creative experiences centered around clay and ceramics.
